When you think of Portugal the first thing which springs in mind is the Algarve, although Portugal is bigger and has much more to offer.
Take the Silver Coast for example, it starts just north of Lisbon and stretches all the way to the south of Porto. Both these cities are connected by a motorway running parallel to the coast and both have airports, which makes this area accessible to a new form of development and tourism.
Property values in the Algarve are hitting the roof and the area is in a stage where the initial investments are already made. The Silver Coast though is at the brink of being discovered and already shows a wide variety of property at accessible prices.
According to “A Place in the Sun” the Silver Coast is “Booming Business”.
Now is the moment to invest in real estate on the Silver Coast, property prices are rising at 10% to 15% per annum. The Silver Coast has lots of beautiful beaches and coastal villages to offer, places such as Peniche, Foz do Arelho, São Martinho do Porto, Nazaré, Figueira da Foz are becoming more popular. Inland places like Sintra, Torres Vedras, Óbidos, Alcobaça, Batalha and Coimbra are becoming more important and together these places make the Silver Coast to what it is today.
It's an area rich with folklore and history and the Portuguese are doing there best to add better conditions and give an easier access to this already colorful and lively west coast. With a moderated climate of maximum 30 degrees Celsius in summer and an average minimum of 15 degrees Celsius in winter, makes the Costa de Prata a haven for those who cannot bare the southern and inland heat. A variety in weather patterns makes that it's never monotone, but still gives us the possibility to have our meals outside and enjoy the plenty of sunshine even in winter times.
